The overall winner of the men's and women's races will win a pair of inov-8s of their choosing thanks to our sponsors inov-8 All Terrain Running 🙌 In the men's race, only a point separates Daniel Miller of Billinge Running Club from the young Harvey Nash of Ribble Valley, but Rossendale's Rob Sidique could still sneak in with a big performance at Hurstwood Hills on Tuesday... There's a bit of magic in them there races in the @inov_8 Pennine Trail Series, and it was definitely on show tonight! A really great atmosphere once again as we kicked off the first of the 3 races at Gorple Rocks. The race was won in a battle right to the end with an unbelievably quick descent by Stephen Corbishley to pip Gary Shaw to the finish with an almost 4:00 mile! A regular winner of Pennine Trails races Sophie Pilkington claimed the ladies race to get the points towards the series prize of a pair of inov-8s 👌 Some awesome running tonight, with many claiming a PB on their race from 2019. GORPLE ROCKS TRAIL RACE Route Description: Starting alongside the landmark of Worsthorne, the village church, the race begins on the one mile climb of Gorple Road. Making your way up the trail to the Yorkshire/Lancashire border, you'll race towards to the races namesake "Gorple Rocks". A fast turn around, and you reach the point of what makes this one of the BEST trail routes in, dare we say it, the whole country*. Now begins the 3 mile race back down... Three things: Number 1: taking on the Downhill at Dusk produces awesome sunsets occurring over Pendle Hill on the horizon. Number 2: The descent is amazing... Have we said that already? Well it's worth mentioning again! Number 3: You'll be getting great support along the way as you pass fellow Pennine Trailers on the way up/down - give a high 5, just remember to stick to the left to ensure there's no bumps along the way. *We hope you agree!
