Dunsop Bridge Trail Race

Final Details

Good morning,

Firstly, I'd like to say a massive thank you for entering our first Pennine Trails event of the year, "The Dunsop Bridge Trail Race" - As you're aware, there have been, and there are set to be more storms this weekend. On the advice of Mountain Rescue, we have made the decision to bring the race forward to 11:00am. We would like to apologise for any inconvenience this causes you, but as you can understand, the elements are out of our hands and the safety of our runners and marshals is our top priority.

We have also made the decision to alter the course to our pre-planned 'bad weather route' incase the river over-flowed the stepping stones at Whitewell. Again, this decision has been taken out of our hands, as we have been informed the steps have been damaged in the storm last weekend and has made this section impassable.

The course is fully marked, and will have marshals and Mountain Rescue throughout.

We've put together a timetable of events to ensure the day goes smoothly.

Race Day Details

Where is the race HQ?

The race HQ is located at Dunsop Bridge Village Hall. Address is:

Dunsop Bridge Village Hall
Trough Road
Dunsop Bridge
Clitheroe
Lancashire
BB7 3BG.

Please ensure no muddy shoes are worn in the village hall

What time is registration?

Registration is open from 9:00am - 10:45am and will be located in the Village Hall where you will collect your numbers. We will then proceed to usher all runners to the race start which is located at entrance to Thorneyholme, which is located in the centre of Dunsop Bridge. Please allow plenty of time for arrival.

Where is parking?

Runners are able to park in the village car park (parking fees apply), or the car park behind the cafe. When these fill, please park considerately and keep to one side of the road and avoid parking on the bend of the bridge. Please car share where possible.

Where can I buy Pennine Trails clothing?

You can buy Pennine Trails clothing at race HQ. Vests and t-shirts are £20 each (cash only).

Will there be water station?

We have water ready and waiting for you at the finish. We will also have a water station at the half way point which you can pour yourself a cup of water if needed (with the idea we won't unnecessarily use too many cups).

What should I wear?

Grippy trail shoes are a must - waterproof jacket, waterproof trousers, hat and gloves are advised to be carried.

Will there be a baggage area?

Runners are welcome to leave their belongings at the registration village hall at their own risk.

Will there be pictures?

We have the talented local photographer David Belshaw on course as ever to capture your pictures on the day. Make sure you strike your best poses.

Are there refreshments?

Dunsop Bridge has a fantastic Cafe called Puddleducks Tea room which will be serving you warm drinks, food and cake. Drinks and food can be bought before and after the race.

Where are the toilets?

There are toilets at the Race HQ in the Village Hall, as well as the Village Car Park.
