STATEMENT
We are deeply saddened and concerned by the incident that occurred during one of our recent events, involving a volunteer.
First and foremost, we want to express our sincere apologies again to the family affected. The safety and wellbeing of all our participants and those we share these spaces with is our highest priority, and we are truly sorry for the distress caused.
We are aware that a video of the incident has been widely shared online. While we cannot comment on the legal specifics, this has been dealt with by the relevant authorities and we can confirm that the volunteer is no longer associated with Pennine Trails in any capacity following internal procedures and discussion.
We want to be clear that the actions taken do not reflect the values or conduct we expect from anyone representing our races.
Abuse directed at our volunteers or participants will not help the process and may lead to further harm.
