One last sleep to go.. and dare we say it.. a potential rain free adventure around the Shire for you all! 😲 We're busy away with last preparations, there's just a few last reminders before you head to Hobbiton in the morning 👇 🟡 Avoid arriving via Ribchester to avoid the traffic from The Royal Lancashire Agricultural Show ⚫ Arrive early and in plenty of time to use the Portaloos, get registered and collect your race number - registration closes at 10:45am for both waves! 🟡 Arrive through Stonyhurst College barriers, avoiding driving through Hurst green, instead arrive via Knowles Brow - Post code is Stonyhurst College, Clitheroe, Lancashire BB7 9PZ, please care share as much as possible and listen to marshal instructions on arrival. ⚫ Bring both cash and card in case of poor signal to purchase pre and post race food and beverages, and for any merch from the Pennine Trails and inov8 stalls 🟡 The trails are dry! Cushioned trail or grippy road shoes will be fine. ⚫ We'll have plenty of water at the finish, and although predicted to be not as warm as today, it could be muggy, so bring water with you if you feel you need it on the course. 🟡 Have the absolute BEST time enjoying the route, pick up your precious medal, buff and car sticker and stick around to cheer in your fellow hobbits! Things couldn't be closer in the race to be number 1 overall in the series! The overall winner of the men's and women's races will win a pair of inov-8s of their choosing thanks to our sponsors inov-8 All Terrain Running 🙌 In the men's race, only a point separates Daniel Miller of Billinge Running Club from the young Harvey Nash of Ribble Valley, but Rossendale's Rob Sidique could still sneak in with a big performance at Hurstwood Hills on Tuesday... In the women's race, it couldn't be any closer between Rossendale's Lauren McCann with St Helen Striders' Kelly Hamilton as they are currently tied in first position! 😲 Previous Hurstwood Hills winner, Hyndburn's U23 Charlotte Corrigan can also not be ruled out being only 3 points behind, with Kelly-Marie From Billinge also in the mix. One does not simply race The Tolkien Trail only once per year! 😁 The yearly demand for the Tolkien Trail Race means we've had to get a little creative. We will now host two Tolkien Trail events each year, one in the Summer (which will return 22/7/23), and one on New Year's Eve - what a way to celebrate and see out the year eh!
